One of four small studies of glasses. I wanted to play with colour and value, and to see how far I could push a still life towards abstraction. Each one starts as chaos, a ground of random colours and shapes, and the glass slowly emerges out of it. It is an exploration of colour, contrast and reflection, and of how a few targeted brush marks can bring an object to life.
