I'm Julien. I’m an oil painter based in London.

For me, painting it's a conversation. I put down a layer, see what it gives me, and try my best to respond.

What I'm chasing is a feeling, sometimes from a memory, sometimes simply from the way the paint lands. I want to know what colour and light do to me, so I follow that on the canvas until it feels right. Then I move to the next one.

My work mainly focuses on semi-abstract landscapes and figurative paintings.
